For a beginner the choice is fairly easy, beginners have less to choose from. Experts are always looking for the next thing that will improve their performance and progression but they (usually) know what they want on a board from experience, which also makes it easier to choose a snowboard. But almost everyone fits in the intermediate/advanced snowboarder category.
